Roberta, you are absolutely correct! Make sure the frame is thick to withstand the extreme pressure from the springs. Get a pad that is wide and thick enough. Preferable 2" thick. Studies have shown that 75% of injuries occur when there are more than 1 bouncer in the trampoline. So if you want to be safe, make sure only allow 1 jumper at a time. Precaution is the key. And always use a net.

Roberta, Good advice.

Agree with the advice to buy as big as you fit and afford. The trampoline will last a long time, and your kids will grow. Plus, you will want to use it.

A safety enclosure gives good reassurance, and you can now also get them for rectangular trampolines.

Round are generally best for general garden use, but you are right to say that you get a better boucne on a rectangular one and in the future you can do better tricks.

I would advise to look for:
1. The thickness of the steel.
2. The thickness and quality of the pads. These are also an expensive item, and change the look and feel of the trampoline.
3. The number of springs. More generally means better bounce.

If anyone is looking for a rectangular trampoline, then I highly recommend www.trampolinejumpers.com. The staff there is very knowledgeable when it comes to different size trampolines if you're not sure exactly what will suffice your needs. I ended up getting the big 14x16 XHD and our family truely love it. Makes me happy when my kids are all smiles and laughter on the thing. Plus it's great exercise for them without me having to do anything but sit and watch with a ice cold glass of lemonade!
Here's a coupon code btw, if someone is interested..

I saw how my kids loved it so much so I decided to try it out and boy, this bounce is amazing. I can go on forever. The unit is really sturdy. I'm going to recommend this my workout class! I got this coupon from another company trampolinejumpers.com who carries this product as well. Coupon code: TJ5offbl . You can use it to get a 5% off on your purchase. Good luck and bounce on!!!

Hi I am a stay home mom, former gymnastic instructor, and have recently received alot of request from shoppers like myself on what is the best trampoline to purchase. Make sure to find a company that offers the best warranty and specs. Stay away from department stores if you are looking for an item to keep for a while as theirs may very flimsy and light weight with poor warranty and technical assistance. I recommend to buy from a company that specializes in trampoline alone and not a sporting goods.

After many email request from consumers, I would recommend the Olympus Pro by IJUMPUSA. They got the one of the best warranty and sturdiest frame in the industry.

I've been looking for a trampoline for a few months myself. i currently have a round trampoline, but looking for a rectangular one. my daughter is getting into gymnastics and i hear a rectangular trampoline is good. where do you recommend i purchase a quality trampoline? i want one with a good safety enclosure net because my daughter is still young, so safety net is important. please recommend. thanks
